Doing things a little differently
At Redbird, we take minimising textile waste seriously. We operate in an industry that has a sell-through rate of 60-70%, which translates to 92 million tonnes worth of garments ending up in landfill each year.
To combat this issue, we prepare each item to order. This means that at the time of you making your purchase, your item isn't yet ready.
As a result, our wastage is essentially zero, in an industry that is notoriously wasteful. Even faulty garments, or any errors that we make in the embroidery process (no one’s perfect, and we’re certainly no exception!) that result in a garment not meeting our quality standards are donated to a homeless shelter, to ensure that nothing is wasted. While this allows us to minimise our environmental impact in a big way, it comes at a slight increase to your delivery time, so we appreciate your patience in waiting up to 3-4 weeks during busy seasons. It’s a tradeoff, but one that we’re happy to make if it means we can make our planet just that little bit happier in the process.
